Our Building Fund
Our Building Fund
For the past nine years, It has always been our desire to make a tangible and lasting impact on the City of Tacoma and it’s surrounding areas. From the start, our mission has been to share our Chamorro culture through song, chant, and dance, but the mission of Guma’ Imahe has grown into an awareness of cultural preservation.
The vision has been expanded to create a long term or permanent Guma’ (Home) and hub in our city where Chamorro organizations can raise funds, share our cultural celebrations, and provide scholarships and educational opportunities such as visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, and traditional arts for the Chamorro community as well to the rest of the city making a huge impact. This building will help connect the Chamorro community and connect the city to the reality of our Chamorro culture.
In the beginning of 2019, we would like to take the steps in seeing this take shape. The vision we see for the Guma’ is to have a main auditorium equipped with a kitchen and bathrooms along with break out rooms that can be used for meetings, seminars, workshops, and so much more to including a food pantry.
The goal is to impact people and bless the city. The building will be a tool to help us do that. Once the vision is a reality, all our donors will be recognized within the building to the fullest potential possible.
Would you please give your most generous gift toward this vision and partner with us in impacting our city?
